Trojans Split with Douglas, Dominate Bellevue in 3-1 Weekend

The Everett Trojans put together another strong weekend on the diamond, going 3-1 across four games—splitting a doubleheader with Douglas College at Joe Martin Stadium before sweeping a road doubleheader at Bellevue College. The Trojans showcased dominant pitching, timely hitting, and explosive offensive production, outscoring opponents 29-6 over the final three games of the weekend.

Game 1: Douglas 5, Everett 2

Everett jumped out to an early lead but couldn't hold off a late Douglas surge in the opener.

The Trojans manufactured two runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by aggressive baserunning and a sacrifice fly from Connor Dempsey. However, Douglas rallied late, scoring five unanswered runs, including a pair of clutch extra-base hits from Carson Young. Strong winds blowing in from right field kept at least two and possibly a third deep fly ball from leaving the ballpark, and the Trojan rally fell short, snapping a 16-game win streak, the longest in program history and one of the longest active streaks in all of college baseball across all levels in the country.

The Trojans responded in a big way in game two, erupting offensively while delivering a shutout on the mound.

Everett scored in five different innings and piled up 10 hits, including home runs from Davis Downer and Dawson Sugawa. Downer led the charge with a massive five-RBI performance.

The Trojans capped the weekend with an offensive explosion, scoring 12 runs in the finale to complete the sweep.

A five-run fourth inning broke the game open, and Everett never looked back. Contributions came throughout the lineup, with multiple players driving in runs.
