2023-2024 Male Cross Country Athlete of the Year. Freshman Yahir Marban was a leader on the men’s team frequently as the top finisher for the Trojans. He had a season PR of 26:23.8 in the 8k which is the fastest 8k by a runner at EvCC since 2015 and his culminating performance came at the NWAC Championship’s where although he did not PR, he finished 10th overall and beat out two of the three runners that placed higher than him just two weeks prior at the Northwest Region Championship meet where he took 4th overall. Yahir also serves on our student athlete leadership council and plans to return to EvCC for his sophomore season where he is majoring in sports psychology.
