2025 Season Ends in Regional Playoffs

Ontario, OR - After missing the playoffs in 2024, the Trojans bounced back this season to go 7-5 in north region play and claimed the #3 spot in the north behind NWAC powerhouses #1 ranked Edmonds, and #2 ranked Bellevue. Everett got off to a slow start in non-conference play, going 5-15, but many of the losses came to eventual playoff teams and the tough schedule became advantageous.
The momentous win came on October 1st, when the Trojans defeated the defending NWAC Champs, Skagit Valley 3-2 in Mount Vernon. The win put Everett in the driver's seat and a month later, a 3-0 sweep over Shoreline helped clinch the #3 spot in the standings.
In the regional round of the NWAC playoffs, the Trojans matched up against Linn-Benton CC, who finished the 2025 season as the #2 South Region representative and ranked #5 in the NWAC. Everett fell in set number one, but roared back to take set number two 25-23. The Trojans had some momentum in set three, but Linn-Benton seized it back, stringing together runs and coming away with a 25-17 win. The Trojans fought hard but ultimately fell 25-18, allowing the Roadrunners to advance.
Sophomore Maya Gaudia had a tremendous match with 20.5 points, and a career high 20 kills while fellow sophomore Jessica Eames had a solid offensive contribution with 9 kills. Taylor Holland added 33 assists to her impressive career numbers, and freshman Natalie Spelman had a team high 20 digs.
In the elimination game, Everett faced Tacoma CC, a team that edged out South Puget Sound in the West Region via tie breaker, but still had a solid overall of 19-17. The Titans also defeated Everett twice, earlier in the season. Once again Everett gave up the first set in a close contest 25-19, but bounced back to take the second set in convincing fashion 25-14.
Tacoma stole away the match by taking sets three and four by scores of 25-21, and the Trojans playoff run would come to an end. Gaudia topped her career high in kills with 24, and freshman Amara Williams led the team in digs with 19.
What began as a slow start, turned into a strong finish by the 2025 Trojans, qualifying for the post season for the third time under head coach Whitney Williams and finishing 3rd in the north region, the highest regional finish since 1997.
Redshirt sophomore Jessica Eames recovered from injury to finish the season strong with 49 kills from her middle position, ending with a career 175 kills, 105 digs, and 28 service aces. Fellow sophomore DS, Lexi Paule recorded 229 digs and 13 service aces in 34 career matches.
Taylor Holland ended her Trojan career with 1,079 assists for an assist per set average of 5.09 which ranks, 6th highest in program history at EvCC. This season's assist per set average of 6.06 ranks 3rd all time at EvCC for a single season. She also led the team in service aces and was named First Team All Region.
Maya Gaudia racked up 529 career kills, over 56 matches averaging 2.81 kills per set. That number ranks 4th all time in program history at EvCC. She also averaged 3.4 points per set which also ranks 4th all time in program history. Maya was named Third Team All Region.
A number of freshman contributed to the successes of the program this season. Nuha Haitami led the team in hitting percentage (.239), Anna Umlauf led the team in blocks (43), and Natalie Spelman led the team in digs with 442. Spelman was named Second Team All Region and her season average of 3.91 digs per set ranks 5th all time at EvCC in a single season.
As a team, the 2025 Trojans averaged 2.11 service aces per set and 14.88 digs per set. Both of which rank 4th all time in program history.
