Avery Daniels - Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year

Avery Daniels returned to the Trojans after having last competed for EvCC in the 2016 cross country season.  In the first meet of the delayed start season, Avery set a new PR despite the cold temperatures of February.  Three weeks later at McCollum Park, Avery set a new PR of 19:07, placing her 19th on the EvCC Women's Cross Country all time 5k list, and finishing just 6 seconds behind the first place runner.    In the final meet of the season, Avery legged out a slow course at Legion Memorial but still managed to finish in second place, just missing first place by a mere five seconds.  She also competed in track, posting the 5th fastest time in the NWAC in the 5,000 meters.  Avery plans on returning this fall to finish her AA and compete in her final year of eligibility.
