Everett, WA - The Everett Community College women's soccer team showed plenty of fight in Wednesday's crosstown rivalry matchup, but despite a flurry of chances, the Trojans came up just short in a 2–0 loss to Edmonds at Memorial Stadium.
Everett came out on the front foot, firing early shots from Chloe Parker, Genesis Molina Escobar, and Delaney Richards that tested Tritons goalkeeper Amaris Ishikawa. The Trojans' attack earned a pair of corners and forced Ishikawa into six saves in the first half alone. Just before the break, however, Edmonds broke through with a service into the box from Aidyn McIntosh. The ball wasn't secured and found its way into the next to give Edmonds a 1–0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Everett continued to press for the equalizer. Molina Escobar and Isabella Nguon each created chances, while Brynn Meno anchored the Trojans' defense with several strong saves to keep her team within striking distance. Despite Everett's effort, Edmonds managed to add an insurance goal in the 64th minute through Evey Morgan.
The Trojans kept battling until the final whistle, with late attempts from Richards and Nguon narrowly missing the mark. While the scoreboard favored the visitors in the T-Trophy Rivalry match, Everett's energy, depth off the bench, and relentless pressure highlighted their potential moving forward into the remainder of north region play.
The Trojans (3-4, 1-3 NWAC) will get a bye this Saturday from conference play and will prepare to face a strong Skagit team on the road next Wednesday. That match is scheduled for a 7:15pm start in Mount Vernon.
