Everett, WA - The women's soccer team put together a commanding performance in the home opener of the 2025 season, rolling to a 7-0 win over Wenatchee Valley College behind a balanced attack and a stingy defense.
Everett wasted no time setting the tone, striking less than two minutes into the match when Maki Quiyono Wong finished off a pass from Addison Morten to give the Trojans the early lead. Just ten minutes later, Gisela Chavez doubled the advantage with help from Mikayla Burnham and Chloe Parker, putting Everett ahead 2-0 at the half.
The Trojans opened the second half with the same intensity, as Symantha Rangel netted the third goal in the 66th minute, assisted by Quiyono Wong and Isabella Nguon. From there, Everett's attack poured it on:
-
Quiyono Wong scored her second of the day off another feed from Morten in the 74th minute.
-
Less than a minute later, Chloe Parker added her name to the scoresheet, assisted by Quiyono Wong.
-
In the 80th minute, Nguon pushed the margin to six with a well-placed finish from over 20 yards out.
-
Genesis Molina Escobar capped off the scoring, also from distance outside the box in the 89th minute to seal the 7-0 result.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Brynn Meno turned away multiple Wenatchee Valley attempts to earn the clean sheet, while Everett's backline kept the Knights' attack in check.
Everett moves to 1-0 on the season, and will hit the road for three straight matches. They'll face Green River on Thursday, followed by another non region match with Centralia on Saturday, and then will open up north region play the following Saturday at Whatcom CC.
