Bio
2023-2024 Women's Soccer Athlete of the Year. Elizabeth Martinez embodies everything that it means to be a member of our women’s soccer team. After an incredible freshman performance in 2022 where she was recognized as an NWAC All-Star, she returned to the team as one of the team’s captains for this 2023 season. Elizabeth netted 2 goals in the second game of preseason this year, but shortly after suffered a season-ending injury. Regardless of her inability to physically compete on the field after her injury, she continued to consistently show up for the program and her teammates. Throughout her recovery, Elizabeth showed tremendous resiliency and leadership, attending every practice and game to support the team in whatever way necessary. Elizabeth is also an exemplary student. She will be completing her Associate’s degree with distinction this Spring, is a four time academic honor roll recipient, twice named to the Dean’s List, and a 2024 inductee into Theta Chi Alpha. She plans to move on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Washington.
