Shoreline, WA – Everett shook off a slow start and put together a dominant second half to earn a convincing 72–48 road victory over Shoreline on Wednesday night.
The Trojans were locked in a 17–17 tie after the first quarter and trailed by four at halftime, but everything flipped after the break. Everett outscored Shoreline 22–11 in the third quarter and slammed the door in the fourth with a 25–8 run, showcasing their depth, defense, and composure down the stretch.
Jordan Hentel delivered one of her strongest all-around performances of the season, leading Everett with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists while playing all 40 minutes. Her presence on both ends of the floor helped set the tone during Everett's second-half surge.
Kaila Oudom added 11 points, knocking down 3-of-6 from three-point range, while also contributing four rebounds and a steal. Selena Espinoza chipped in 13 points, attacking the rim and getting to the free-throw line despite a tough shooting night. Off the bench, Myah Galdeira provided a spark with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, going a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line. Jasmine Germain made the most of her minutes, scoring 6 points in just five minutes, including two triples.
As a team, Everett forced 20 Shoreline turnovers and came away with 11 steals, turning defense into offense throughout the second half. The Trojans also held Shoreline to just 29.2% shooting from the field and 20% from three, while winning the battle at the free-throw line with 20 made free throws. Shoreline was led by Esmerelda Sanchez's 34 points, but Everett's defensive adjustments limited the rest of the Dolphins' lineup to just 14 points combined.
With the win, Everett continues to build momentum as conference play rolls on, and will enjoy the weekend bye. Everett will prep for the second round of conference play which starts back up next Wednesday. The Trojans will host Whatcom on Wednesday night with a 7:00pm tip off.
