Bellingham, WA — North Region play tipped off Friday evening for the Everett Trojans women's basketball team as they traveled to Bellingham to take on Whatcom. Despite a hard-fought battle that showcased toughness and heart, the Trojans came up short in a 56 - 47 final.
Myah Galdeira led the way with an outstanding performance, scoring 16 points while knocking down four three-pointers. Galdeira was relentless on both ends of the floor, adding four steals and setting the tone with her energy, confidence, and aggressive play.
Jordan Hentel delivered a standout all-around effort, finishing with nine points, seven rebounds, and three steals while playing all 40 minutes. Kaila Oudom chipped in eight points, connecting on two timely three-pointers to keep the Trojans within striking distance throughout the contest.
Everett did have defensive highlights as the Trojans forced 18 turnovers and recorded eight steals. The team also gained confidence from beyond the arc, knocking down eight three-pointers on the night. The Trojans return home this Saturday, where they will continue North Region play against Bellevue. Tip off is at 4pm.
