Spokane, WA - Women's basketball chalked up another win over the weekend, defeating Tacoma CC 58-51, but fell in overtime to Portland CC, and then battled hard but ultimately came up short to the host Spokane Colleges 54-33.
Three Trojans scored in double figures on the opening day against Tacoma, led by Myah Galdeira's 16 points. She also added 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Jordan Hentel had a big 13 point, 13 rebound night and Kelsee Hunt scored 11 points with 14 rebounds. Everett used a big 20-point third quarter to build an 18 point lead and withstood a Tacoma run in the 4th quarter to preserve the team's 3rd win of the season.
Against Portland, EvCC trailed at half by one, but once again had a big 3rd quarter to build a five point lead going into the 4th quarter. The Panthers outscored Everett 16-11 in the last quarter of regulation, and trailing by two with a second remaining in the game, Myah Galdeira calmly hit two free throws to send the game into overtime. Portland's defense clamped down in overtime, only giving up six points and PCC avenged the earlier season loss to Everett 64-60. Kaila Oudom had one of her best games of the season and scored 17 points. Jordan Hentel recorded another double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and nearly hit the triple double dishing out 8 assists. Kelsee Hunt also had 12 points and added 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
In the final game of the weekend, the Trojans took on host Spokane. Tired legs were apparent as EvCC shot just 4 of 22 from beyond the arc and had their least offensively productive game of the season falling 54-33. Jordan Hentel was the only Trojan to score in double figures, with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Everett will see Tacoma for the 3rd time in the past 4 weeks, traveling to TCC on Thursday December 18th for a 4pm tip off.
