Sydney VanNess - Women's Basketball Athlete of the Year

Former first team All-WESCO out of Shorecrest High School, Sydney Vanness was the leading scorer for a Trojans squad that finished atop the North Region standings for the first time in 13 years.  Sydney averaged 16.7 points per game, which led the team in scoring as well as the entire north region and was 9th among all scorers in the NWAC this season.  She also  pulled down an average of 7 rebounds per game to go along with 1.5 steals per game.  In one of her best games of the season, she scored 20 points with 9 rebounds in a big road win over Whatcom.  Sydney was twice named to the academic honor roll, including recognition on the president's list with a 4.0 winter quarter GPA.
