Portland, OR - The 2026 season came to a close on Friday after a thrilling extra inning game against #5 Spokane. After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Trojans battled back to tie the game up in the 3rd inning with RBI's from sophomore's Kelsie Jensen and Amanda Webb. Karlee-Rose Keale pitched a gem going 6 straight shut out innings before an unearned run in the 8th put Spokane on top 3-2. Freshman Rihanna Joaquin led the team with two hits and Keale finished the game pitching all 7 innings and struck out 4 with just two earned runs.
Everett opened up the tournament against north region foe Bellevue college, a team that defeated EvCC in three out of four region games earlier in the season. The unfinished business was obvious as the Trojans opened up the game with a solo home run from Kylee Horan in the second inning. Jensen hit an RBI single later in the inning before the Trojans exploded for four runs in the 4th and capped the game with five in the 5th, decisively winning 11-3. Kelsie Jensen, went 4-4 and the team combined for 17 hits while Keale pitched 6 innings and gave up just 1 earned run, while striking out 3.
The win over Bellevue advanced Everett to face #1 ranked Mt. Hood. The Saints pitcher held the normally high powered Trojan offense to just two hits (Balgos & Joaquin) while the Saints offense showed why they are the #1 ranked NWAC team. Mt. Hood went on to win 9-1 which set up the loser out game against Spokane. Freshman Rihanna Joaquin led the team over the three games offensively with 6 hits and drove in 3 runs. Kelsie Jensen also had a standout tournament with 5 hits, 4 RBI's and Lilyana Balgos also had 5 hits and scored 4 runs. Karlee-Rose Keale pitched 17.2 innings and recorded 11 strikeouts.
Everett finished the season in the Top 8, and qualified for the NWAC playoffs for the 5th straight season. Six Trojans received post season honors. Renee Riggins was Second Team All North Region, and Kelsie Jensen, Lilyana Balgos, Kendall Pahl, Karlee-Rose Keale, and Amanda Webb all earned First Team All North Region Honors. Lilyana flashed the leather all season long in the outfield, robbing three home runs and earned All NWAC Gold Glove recognition.
As a team the Trojans were one of the better offenses in recent history. The team combined for 370 runs scored (5th in program history), 460 hits (5th in program history), 104 doubles (2nd most in program history), and 332 RBI's (3rd most in program history). It was a team of resilience and perseverance that pushed the 2026 team into one of the premier teams in the NWAC.
