Trojans End Regular Season Ranked #8 in RPI

Shoreline, WA - The Trojans wrapped up the regular season on Sunday afternoon with decisive wins over Shorline CC, and hold steady at the #8 ranking in the NWAC Softball RPI. New this season, the NWAC Championship Tournament moved from the top 16 to the top 12, so it was imperative that the Trojans finished the season strong.
Everett did just that sweeping the road doubleheader over the Dolphins by scores of 14-4 and 7-4. Everett's offense exploded for 21 total runs and 27 hits across the two games, while several Trojans delivered standout individual performances to power the road sweep.
Game One:
Everett wasted no time taking control of the opener, plating four runs in the first inning and never looking back in the 14-4 win.
The Trojans pounded out 17 hits, including home runs from Kelsie Jensen and Monroe Dalrymple.
Jensen led the offensive charge with a monster performance, going 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs. Dalrymple was nearly unstoppable at the plate, finishing 4-for-4 with a homer, four RBIs, and two runs scored.
Rihanna Joaquin continued her hot hitting by going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored, while Renee Riggins added three hits and scored three times.
Everett scored in five different innings and finished with:
- 17 hits
- 14 RBIs
- 6 extra-base hits
- Multiple-run innings in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 7th
In the circle, Karlee-Rose Keale tossed a complete game, allowing just five hits while striking out four over seven innings.
Game Two:
The Trojans completed the sweep with a 7-4 victory in game two behind another explosive outing from Joaquin.
Joaquin accounted for six of Everett's seven RBIs, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a two-run homer. Her bases-clearing double in the sixth inning broke the game open and gave the Trojans breathing room late.
Aaliyah Villafuerte delivered a key RBI single in the sixth inning, while Kylee Horan scored twice and reached base twice.
Everett finished game two with:
- 10 hits
- 7 RBIs
- 4 extra-base hits
- Runs scored in three different innings
Dalrymple earned the win in the circle after throwing five solid innings with four strikeouts, while Keale closed out the final two innings in relief.
Everett will set their sites now on the NWAC playoffs beginning on May 14th in Portland, Oregon at Delta Park Sports Complex. The Trojans will take on a familiar opponent in #9 ranked and north region foe Bellevue College. Game time is set for 10am on May 14th.
