Trojans Split High-Scoring Doubleheader at Douglas

The Everett Trojans traveled north of the border on March 22 for a doubleheader against Douglas College, earning a split in two dramatically different contests. Everett exploded offensively in the opener for a 22-13 win before falling in a tightly contested 7-6 extra-inning battle in game two.

Game 1: Everett 22, Douglas 13

The Trojans' offense put together one of its most explosive performances of the season, racking up 22 runs on 21 hits in a back-and-forth slugfest.

After falling behind 5-4 in the third inning, Everett responded with relentless offensive pressure, scoring in five of the final six innings—including a nine-run seventh inning to put the game away.

Game 2: Douglas 7, Everett 6 (9 innings)

Game two provided a stark contrast, as Everett battled back multiple times but ultimately fell in a walk-off loss in the ninth inning.

Douglas jumped out early with five runs in the first two innings, forcing the Trojans to play from behind. Everett chipped away throughout the game before a clutch moment in the seventh. Kendall Pahl delivered the biggest swing of the game for EvCC with a game-tying three-run home run in the seventh inning to even the score at 6-6. Despite two hits in the 8th, the Trojans could not capitalize, and Douglas walked it off in the 9th with a solo homerun.

Everett will return home for their north region home opener on Friday against Pierce College.  The Raiders are 6-2 with sweeps over Olympic, Skagit Valley, and Shoreline.  Game times will be at 4pm and 6pm.
