Shoreline, WA - The Trojan softball team entered Sunday's contests needing two wins over Shoreline to claim the north region championship, and the 2025 squad delivered with impressive wins; 23-6 and 8-0. The ticket to the NWAC Championships was all but punched weeks ago when the team held a #5 ranking in the NWAC RPI with the top 16 teams advancing to the double-elimination tournament May 15-18 in Portland, OR, but the regular season was not finished up yet, and EvCC had their sites set on the program's 3rd region title over the past five years.
Game 1 Recap: Everett 23, Shoreline 6
The Everett Trojans exploded offensively in Game 1, delivering a relentless 21-hit, 23-run assault on Shoreline. Emma Hansen led the charge with 3 hits, including a home run and 5 RBIs. She was one of three Trojans to go deep, joined by Taryn Takayoshi and Alissa Hermansen.
The Trojans got off to a fast start with a 4-run first inning and poured it on with nine more across the next two innings. Shoreline briefly rallied in the 3rd with back-to-back home runs from Sophia Tripp and Morgan Crawford, followed by a grand slam by Kaylie Marshall that cut the deficit to 13-6. But Everett responded with 10 unanswered runs to seal the mercy-rule win in 5 innings.
Pitching standout: Takayoshi was excellent in relief, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 5 over 3 shutout innings.

Game 2 Recap: Everett 8, Shoreline 0 (5 innings)
Everett followed their explosive opener with a dominant shutout in Game 2, blanking Shoreline in a combined no-hitter by pitchers Alissa Hermansen and Taryn Takayoshi.
Emma Hansen once again starred, crushing a 3-run homer and adding a double, finishing 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs. Olivia Boures added a solo home run, while the Trojans scored in four of the five innings played.
On the other side, Shoreline's offense was completely stifled, failing to record a hit or mount any real threat, with just one baserunner reaching via walk.
Pitching note: Hermansen and Takayoshi combined for 5 innings of no-hit softball, striking out two.
