The 2019-2020 season will be Daniel Thompson’s 6th year on staff as an assistant coach and 4th year under Head Coach Mike Trautman. Thompson rejoined the program as a coach for the 2014-2015 season.
While on staff, the Trojan men’s basketball teams have complied a 98-52 overall record, while going 50-20 during league play. The Trojan’s have had winning records all five seasons and have qualified for the post-season tournament three times, the past two as #1 seeds. During the 2017-2018 season, the Trojan’s claimed their first League title in nearly 4 decades, while also setting the school wins record (26) as well as earning the schools first #1 ranking in the NWAC Coaches Poll. The Trojan’s repeated as region champions during the 2018-2019 season, marking the first time in program history that the school has won back to back region championships. The Trojan’s also compiled back to back 20 win seasons for the first time in program history,
Coach Thompson is involved in recruiting, working on the offense, and player development. Thompson has worked closely with a handful of all league players, including two region MVPs and a NWAC Player of the Year.
Thompson, an Everett native, prepped at nearby Arlington High School where he was a 3-year letterman. He then went on to play at Everett Community College, for Hall of Fame coach, Larry Walker.
Thompson earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from Washington State University, in 2013.
