Everett, WA - The Trojans delivered one of their most complete performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Olympic College Rangers 96-74 inside Walt Price Student Fitness Center. The win moves Everett Community College to 12-14 overall and 5-6 in North Region play, keeping the Trojans firmly in the top four of the standings with just three region contests remaining.
Everett set the tone early, erupting for 56 first-half points while shooting efficiently and attacking the glass. The Trojans knocked down 51.5% from the field (34-of-66) for the game and built a 21-point halftime cushion behind balanced scoring and relentless rebounding. Everett finished with a commanding 40-30 advantage on the boards, including 15 offensive rebounds that led to key second-chance opportunities.
Sophomore guard Bubba Palacol led the way with a game-high 27 points, going 9-for-18 from the field and 9-of-12 at the free throw line. Darious Turner added 20 points on 9-of-18 shooting while contributing seven rebounds and two steals. Inside, Noah Parker was dominant on both ends, posting 19 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting, grabbing 13 rebounds (six offensive), and converting all six of his free throw attempts for a powerful double-double performance.
The Trojans also shared the basketball at a high level, finishing with 25 assists on 34 made field goals. Anthony Najera orchestrated the offense with seven assists to go along with nine points, while Kyler Hadfield chipped in four assists and two steals. Everett's discipline showed at the free throw line as well, where the Trojans converted 22-of-26 attempts (84.6%), consistently extending the lead.
Defensively, Everett limited Olympic to 41.4% shooting and forced 16 turnovers, turning defense into offense throughout the night. Despite Olympic's strong 43.3% shooting from beyond the arc, the Trojans' pace, rebounding, and paint presence proved too much to overcome.
With the victory, Everett remains in the hunt in the North Region playoff race and will look to carry this momentum on the road Wednesday when the Trojans travel to face Peninsula College. Tip off is scheduled for 5pm in Port Angeles.
