Everett, WA - Everett Community College men's basketball erased a five-point halftime deficit with a strong second-half surge to defeat Peninsula 82–77 on Wednesday night. The Trojans outscored the Pirates 45–35 after the break, leaning on efficient offense, ball movement, and timely stops down the stretch to secure the home victory.
Everett was led by a balanced and efficient scoring effort, placing four players in double figures. Bubba Palacol paced the Trojans with a game-high 21 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the floor while adding five rebounds, three steals, and a block. Darious Turner was nearly perfect inside, scoring 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting and grabbing seven rebounds to anchor the interior.
Anthony Najera orchestrated the offense with 15 points and nine assists, hitting four three-pointers and pulling down seven rebounds in an all-around performance. Kyler Hadfield chipped in 14 points and four assists, while Ro'Darius Bryant (6 points, 8 rebounds) and Bryson Bell (4 points, 5 rebounds) provided key contributions off the bench, particularly on the glass.
The Trojans shot an even 50.0 percent from the field for the game and controlled the paint and boards, outrebounding Peninsula 40–32, including 11 offensive rebounds that led to critical second-chance opportunities. Everett also moved the ball effectively, finishing with 20 assists on 32 made baskets. At the free-throw line, the Trojans were steady, converting 10-of-13 (76.9%), helping seal the win late. Defensively, Everett forced 16 turnovers and turned those into momentum-shifting possessions in the second half.
Peninsula shot well from beyond the arc (14-of-33), but Everett's defensive pressure after halftime limited clean looks and disrupted rhythm when it mattered most. With the win, the Trojans improve to 9–11 overall and 2–3 in conference play, carrying momentum forward as they continue their league schedule this Saturday at home in the T-Trophy Rivalry game against Edmonds. Tip off is at 2:00pm.
