Everett, WA - For the third straight weekend, the Trojans competed in a three-day tournament Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but this time it would be on their own home floor. Everett played their first home game of the 2025-2026 season on Friday night against Tacoma CC and came away with a convincing 79-69 win, followed by a 65-48 win against Wenatchee Valley, and capping it off by avenging an earlier season loss to Portland CC, winning 88-84.
On the opening night, EvCC led by as many as 21 in the second half, and was able to withstand a late run from the Titans in the final five minutes of action, predominantly by scoring 42 points inside the paint and out-rebounding TCC 48-26. Four Trojans scored in double figures led by Bubba Palacol's 18 points. Darius Turner, posted another double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Ro'Darius Bryant scored 14 with 4 assists. Kyler Hadfield was the other Trojan to score in double figures 10 points and also had 3 steals.
Against Wenatchee Valley, Everett struggled to score the ball as efficiently as the night before but still controlled the glass outrebounding the opponents 42-24. Everett gave up a sizeable first half lead early on, but was able to close out the half strong and went into the break leading by seven. Bubba Palacol had 11 of the team's 29 points.
The Trojans kept a comfortable lead throughout the second half and outscored Wenatchee 36-26. Palacol finished with 24 points Kyler Hadfield was the only other Trojan to score in double figures, he had 11. Clayton Olstad had 7 points off the bench for a season high, and also added 3 assists.
In the final game, EvCC squared off with Portland who also defeated TCC and WVC the previous two days, and got the better of the Trojans back on November 14th. One month later to the day, Everett returned the favor, taking an early first quarter lead and then never giving it back up.
The game looked like it was going to be a run-away when the Trojans went up by 24 early in the second half, but Portland chipped away and got to within three, knocking down three straight three-pointers on consecutive possessions. But Everett remained poised under pressure, beating a full court press and knocking down free throws to preserve the win 88-84.
Everett knocked down 9 threes with Bubba Palacol going 4 of 6 from downtown and scoring 22 with 8 assists and 9 rebounds, but it was Darious Turner who led the way for EvCC with a season high 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Kyler Hadfield also had a season high with 18 points and 6 assists.
The Trojans will get another rematch opportunity this Wednesday night, taking on South Puget Sound at home. The Clippers defeated Everett 77-55 earlier this season and have been playing well with a 10-3 record and winning two of three games during the crossover weekend. But the Trojans have won 5 of their last 6, including a 3-0 home record and have found their stride defensively, holding teams to an average of 68 points over the last six games. Tip off will be at 3:30pm.
