Bio

Parker Guin was named the new head baseball coach in July of 2021, and will be just the 3rd head coach in the past 20 years of the program.  In that time EvCC baseball has racked up 573 wins, 8 north region championships, 1 NWAC Championship, and countless alumni that have gone on to play at the 4 year level, many at the NCAA Division I level, and some have even heard their names called on MLB draft day.

Coach Guinn spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Utah where he was directly responsible for working with the catchers, including Jayden Kiernan who was All Pac-12 Honorable mention.  Guinn also was the assistant hitting coach and coached first base for the Utes.

Prior to Utah, Parker Guinn coached a year at Division I Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2016 and was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Washington for the 2017 season.

"We are thrilled to bring Parker in to the Trojan family, said Athletic Director Garet Studer.  He comes highly recommended, and has a wealth of playing and coaching experience at high levels of college baseball.  All of our baseball athletes have aspirations of getting to that level, so having a head coach that has been there and made those connections will be invaluable to the program.  Beyond that he is a professional that deeply cares about the athletic and personal development of each and every one of his players."

Guinn, played high school baseball in Gig Harbor, WA where he was named 1st team All-Narrows League, 1st team all area, and 2nd team all state.  He was named team MVP his senior season batting .450 with four home runs and 30 RBI's, leading his team to the state tournament all three years. Out of high school he was recruited by then Trojans head coach Levi Lacey, and spent the fall training with EvCC but received a late offer by the University of Washington where he ultimately decided to play in the spring of 2012.

Guinn played his freshman through junior years as a Husky hitting .313 in 48 games.  He decided to transfer to SIUE for his senior year where he made 40 starts including 38 behind the plate.  He finished with a .269 batting average, 12 doubles, and 9 home runs.  He also threw out 12 of 39 would-be base stealers.

"I am so excited to return to the pacific northwest to continue the rich success of the Everett CC baseball program, said Guinn.  Coach Howie and coach Lacey have created an unbelievable track record for the program and I look forward to maintaining that standard.  Our staff will work day in and day out to develop and recruit high level players that will allow us to compete for NWAC Championships every season."

Parker has a Bachelor's degree in communications with a minor in business administration from SIUE.  He also received a Master's degree in sports leadership from Northeastern University.  He is engaged to his fiancé Holleh and enjoys playing golf in his free time.
