Everett, WA - The Toronto Blue Jays have named Cody Atkinson as their Assistant Hitting Coach.  Atkinson played baseball at Everett CC and led the NWAC in home runs (26) and doubles (111) while finishing with a .301 batting average. EvCC won the NWAC North Division and finished second overall in the NWAC with a record of 39-13.  Cody also served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Everett Community College (ECC) from 2012-16 where they posted a 114-43 record over the four seasons. His responsibilities included coaching the infielders and running the offense. In his first season, Atkinson helped guide EvCC to its first Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Championship after going 39-9 and posting a .316 batting average.

After Everett, Cody had several coaching stints at the college level including West Virginia University and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley before breaking into major league baseball working for organizations such as the Cincinnati Reds and the Texas Rangers.
