Bio
Ryan Sells is among the best two-way players to have ever put on a Trojan baseball uniform. In his single season with EvCC in 2012, Sells posted a 1.67 ERA in 9 starts, collecting 8 wins and striking out 42 batters in 59 innings pitched, he also hit .416 with 4 homeruns and 26 RBI's. Ryan was instrumental in the teams success that season, helping the 2012 squad win the program’s 2nd north region championship under hall of fame head coach Levi Lacey. The team also won five games in the NWAC post-season and placed third overall. Sells pitched in two playoff games which included a complete game shutout against Yakima giving up just 4 hits and striking out 7 batters.
Sells was named the north region MVP, NWAC MVP, American Baseball Coaches Association First Team All American Infielder and within the last couple years was named NWAC 1st Team All-Decade Utility for his time at EvCC. He then was recruited to continue his collegiate career with national NAIA powerhouse Lewis and Clark State College in Idaho. In his senior season he batted .366 with 11 home runs and 55 RBIs while leading the Warriors to a 47-9 season. He also saw action as a pitcher and was named All NAIA West Region, All-American Honorable Mention and named to the 2014 All-World Series Team.
Ryan played professionally and not long after eventually turning to coaching. He is currently the head baseball coach at his alma mater, Mountlake Terrace High School where he has been coaching for the past 6 years. Most recently Sells led the Hawks to the quarterfinals of the 2024 WIAA State Tournament. He also works as a high school teacher and is happily married to his wife Shelby and has 2 children, Harper and Paxton.
