The Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics, recognizes program excellence in two-year college athletics based on success in championship competition across three divisions: the Scholarship Division, the Non-Scholarship Division, and the State Associations Division. The State Associations Division is comprised of the 145 two-year colleges that compete in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California as part of the NWAC and CCCAA.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. The 580+ NATYCAA members of the NJCAA, NWAC, and CCAAA are stacked against each other, with the winner being crowned as having the most competitive program in the country. In addition to two year colleges, the Learfield Cup also recognizes Champions across NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA.
Colleges earn points based on their performance in each division's end of the season championship events. The winners of each championship earn 20 points, second-place finishes earn 19 points, third-place finishers receive 18 points, etc. Colleges use their top-five sports finishes per gender to accumulate points toward their division's cup standings. First, second and third-place awards are presented at NATYCAA's Annual Convention in June.
