Darious Turner, Men's Basketball

Darious Turner, a red-shirt freshman wing on the Men's Basketball Team from Belulah High School from Valley, Alabama has been named the Male Athlete of the Week. In the three games in the 2025 NWAC Crossover Tournament that the Trojans hosted, Darious scored 47 points with 29 rebounds. He had two double double's, one against Tacoma CC and the other against Portland CC. For the weekend, he shot 51.2% from the field, 25% from the 3 point line and 60% from the free throw line with 9 assists and 4 blocks. On the season, he averages 10.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, which is 14th in the NWAC for rebounds. Has sho 46.8% from the field, 2.1% from beyond the 3 point line and 58.3% from the free line. With 90 rebounds, he ranks 13th in the NWAC, and his 11 blocks ranks him 5th in the NWAC. Coach Thompson had this to say about Darious's play this weekend - "Darious had a great weekend at the Everett Crossover, averaging 15.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. He also made a strong impact on the defensive end, using his length and athleticism to average 1.3 blocks and 1 steal per game. Darious consistently affected the game in numerous ways on both ends of the floor, and his all-around ability was on full display throughout the weekend, in all 3 of our wins."
